4th/PotC2/Random Grumbles

inteligrrlWell, you are all due an update and I feel guilty enough to put off my fic's for long enough to do it.
First of all, I haven't forgotten you, I just can't seem to remember to bring my address book home from work. Otherwise Amber, Anna & Tia you would all have recieved a call in the last two weeks. Love you all and I'll try to remember sometime next week to bring it home.
Anyhow on the light side: Saw Pirates 2 and my major thoughts are best summed up by "Star Wars rip off". Most blatantly would be the Kraken(sp?) which is totally a ocean bound Sarlac from Ep VI. Now this is not a bad thing, it's a good movie and I loved the set up for the third movie. Some things were stupid, but it was nice to to see the chemistry of the cast incorporated. It's Disney so I'm sure there'll be a PC ending, but Jack/Elizabeth/Will is so my OT3 for the third movie. (only really spoilery note will be in comments)
Random Musings: I had fun on the fourth. Fireworks were fantastic, though watching them I was struck by how much I miss being a kid and so idealisticly patriotic. I mean two weeks ago Crystal and I were discussing how we felt almost too jaded and cynical to even care about voting, when one of the things I was most upset about as a kid was that I would turn 18 the year after a presidential election. God how much we change.
Life update: Amanda has met a boy. She's nuts about him and tentatively planning on moving up to Portland with him in September. I'm torn between being happy for her, worrying about her, and being a little peved because of how much it's going to inconvenience me to find a new place to live. Being a grown up sucks sometimes... But it's still infinitely better than being a kid.
Personal Messages: Anna, my wife, are you back in the states yet? If you are you can expect a call, I've missed you my lovely. Anna & Amber, I love you and can't wait to see you. BTW the Thursday will be our beach/birthday celebration day. How do you feel about going to Lips(drag bar) for a bit in the evening? Tia, I love you dearly, hope you're doing well and like your new place. Hug my Laz-love for me.
