inteligrrlThings that are irritating me in hp fics:
1. Harry obviously has a good school uniform, which would be seen on him by people in the school. The only reason for someone seeing him in Duduley's hand-me-downs is if they go to his house during the summer.
2. Harry may be gay, but he's not a girl. if he ever does get a new clothes he'll get it himself and not be foolish enough to let Hermionie take him.
3. Leather Pants. Yes, they're a lovely thing, but we forget that not a lot of guys actually have the ass to pull it off, so putting every fricking character in them is ridiculous. Why must they appear in every other fic? It's gotten to the point that I grant leniency to fics that make a point of having Dragon Hide pants. Why do I really care what he's wearing anyhow? Can't we just get on with the really important part of the story? (I'm referring to the plot, not Sev/Harry/Draco's but length hair)
4. Japanese. Am I the only person who thinks that it's beyond being simply OOC to have the various characters speaking japanese to each other. Japanese pet names? bits of conversations? Yes, we all appreciate what you learned during your stint in the Pokemon fandom, but if you can't differentiate between the two I'd like to toss you back into the unwashed masses that make up the anime-fan-girls till you can figure it out.

Date: 2003-01-22 02:00 pm (UTC)most of the guys i know don't give a flying fuck what they wear, and are more than glad to have someone throw something at them and say 'wear this' ...especially if someone else bought it for them. i can see hermione dragging harry out to hogsmeade, sitting him down and picking out clothes for him while he rolls his eyes and tries to escape. but i can't see it being a really big deal...hermione's a sensible girl, she'd prolly just snag a few pairs of pants and sweaters and be done with it, not get all giggly while playing dress-up. i hate it most especially when they have hermione AND ginny take harry out and doll him up. gah.
leather pants, though, no. most guys don't have butts. even those that do...ugh, i just don't get the leather pants obsession.
are you telling me that people actually have their characters talking to each other in japanese?!?!? ACK OMG GAG. baby jesus is crying.
bah. bad fandom! bad!
