I've read Never Alone, Never Again several times, and each time this chapter just kills me. The flashback scene always makes me want to cry. Harry's decision not to allow that gift to count is very similar to the decisions I've made for certain things not to count at times. It may be denying reality, but it is an eminently comforting thing to be able to do.

Guess what I got?

It's high, fluffy, and soft.

It's covered in my new *sage!* green comforter.

That's right! I have a bed.

A real bed to call my own. It's a full size too!

And the best part is...
*whispers* it's a christmas present, so when I leave it's comin with me!

Whoo hoo!

A full size bed says that you have room in your life for another person. Don't be that person who's thirty and still sleeping on a twin! - Lauralie Gillmore "Gilmore Girls"
