Life update

Yes, I'm actually updating. You know, you really all owe this update to electric_inc, who created the lovely icon I am now using.

Anyhow, on to my life.

I'm moving. Joy.

My dear friend Amanda's boyfriend broke up with her (2 days before her birthday, *jerk*) & so she needs a new place to live, so she and I will be splitting an apt in the El Cajon area. We're signing a 6 mo. lease, so if it doesn't work out so well there is a reasonable end comming. Mostly, I just hate moving.

I'm spending next weekend w/Alexis, which should be fun, but when will I get around to packing between then & the next weekend when I move?

Plus, I HATE cardboard boxes. I think I"m going to see how much I'd have to spend to buy several large rubermaid containers to pack in instead. Anyone want to donate to the cause? Plus, I've got to buy a bookshelf, as there won't be one built into the wall like at my current house.

Anyhow, it's all okay, I'm just mostly in the grumps about moving. On the upside, maybe the post office will actually be able to FIND this house.

Ok! So need new address!

Good luck on the move.

As for books, the bed has always worked for me, Who cares if I sleep on all the paper product like your average hampster or hobo, it saves me the effort of trying to stand them up!

Love yah!

strange, i've always enjoyed moving, it's the closest thing to 12th century exploration americans get, you're packing up and off on adventure to a new territory... We i'm sure you are thinking that is AWSOME. Okay sucks for you but you get to redecorate! And no, that comment doesn't make me gay.

Sure it doesn't honey. I'm sure you and Brian are only going to be making smores in that cabin in the middle of now where.

Maybe the new place will let me send you packages! Sorry I missed your im last night, was long in bed at that point (darn that time difference).

My favorite thing about cardboard is dumpster diving for it. You have to scope out your target in advance, and be sure to dress in dark clothing and carry a beat-people-flashlight (otherwise known as my ginormous mag-lite).

Blah, I'm moving right now too! On the 15th. Begging for boxes, moving boxes, breaking my back with boxes! I have soooo many books, and books are heavy. I hate moving. But, I'm going to a place with lower rent. What about you?

[identity profile] inteligrrl.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
hopefully the same or lower. Rent itself is lower, but I'm not paying utilities currently, so we'll see. What area are you headed to?

Um, I don't know how well you know El Cajon - but if you get off the 8 at 2nd Street and go North a way, it turns into Wintergardens Road, and then you turn on a street called Royal, and we're up the hill. We have a nice view since we're on a hill, yay! Where are you going to be?

Ehh, moving sucks, but at least you know that you have to. I might and don't even know what I'm going to do this summer, or I might not and not even have to worry about it. But with that prior knowlege of that possiblity, I have been collecting a stash of plastic boxes (that are amazingly expensive) and also stealing the post offices flat rate boxes, which I would highly suggest if you can without them getting mad at you.
