Names...
First Name: Janell
Means: Jehovah has been gracious; Jehovah has shown favor; God's gracious gift.
Middle Name: Lynn
Meaning: A cascade; Waterfall; Dwells by the torrent
Last Name: Gray
Meaning: gray haired
All together your names mean: god has graciously given a waterfall of gray hair (to those who've met me *g*)
(oddly enough all my names are english in origin.)
Names are a funny thing. Some people look like their names. I've met cute little Stacy's and Tracy's that you could tell their name the moment you looked at them. I've often wondered just how that works, if a person grows into their name, or if it's just been chosen so perfectly.
Personally I never liked mine. When I was little I would introduce myself as "2 & 1/2 W" (what can I say, Sesame Street has had an affect on me from an early age). Later I'd introduce myself saying "I'm Janell, but I don't like that so call me Lauren". Oddly enough my cousin was later named Lauren. Now, years later I'm resigned to it, though I still feel it's a name that doesn't really suit me for whatever reason. It's as if there's something just a bit to much about it. Something a bit plainer would suit me better, but that's probably just my wallflower side talking. Despite the english origin I can't help but feel Janell's to exotic a name for plain old me.
As a side note: Keep your fingers crossed for me for Monday. I just may get some good news then, but I'll not say anything more for fear of jinxing it.
Also, muppet radio does wonders for my mood.
