I still say Dumbeldore is a Mary Sue...

Quick question, why didn't Dumbeldore do the counter curse on the broom in book 1? Am I wrong or hasn't Dumbeldore been at all the quidditch games? If he was there, why didn't he stop the curse? After all, if Snape could recognize the spell that was going on without seeing it being cast, surely the great Dumbeldore knew what was going on. Did Dumbeldore just sit there while Harry was being jerked around just to manipulate Snape? Was he trying to foster good will, or protective tendencies in Severus? What on earth was going through Dumbeldore's mind? What are his motivations?

Arg.

I can't stand how manipulative Dumbeldore is. It makes me want to shake him till he coughs up something purely honnest for once. What ever happened to the truth for truth's sake? You aren't supposed to use it to warp prople the way you want them to be.
